Note from Mom

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to let you know that the Basic Grey Christmas Paper and Embellishments has been on order - - but not shipped because the order is not complete with product.  As soon as Basic Grey ships it to us, we will let you all know via the website.  I know that many of you are waiting … us too!

I cannot believe that it is almost Thanksgiving.  Please read Teri’s e-mail about the “Day after Turkey Day” sale.    And for those of you that will be joining us at 4:30 am - - we will all be drinking coffee together to stay awake.  Actually, it is a really fun day  –  so before you head to the mall, come and have coffee and goodies with us.

Also, spending your “Memory Money” this year will be a little different - - we will be having a Memory Money Mall.  That should be fun.

Soo… now a challenge - - each holiday is a special time for our families.  So, this year, be sure and jot down something funny or memorable that happens.  One of the funniest things that I can remember about a Thanksgiving is when our 3 month old kitten knocked the turkey carcus off the counter and was dragging it across the kitchen floor, while we were happily eating dinner.  Thank goodness we had cut all the major turkey slices off of it.

 Have a wonderful holiday

Love … and God Bless ….. Mom (aka Barb)

Sorry guys, I was so busy last week that I forgot to write my blog.

I should share with you all that we have a store cat, but she lives outside.  She is so cute. I have not named her yet, but I am working on it.  She is a stray kitten that just showed up one day and never left.  She is always out back to greet us when we leave the store every night.  Tonight I found her hiding under my car waiting for me to feed her dinner.  If anyone has some ideas for names for her, either come in and let me know or post it as a comment here.  Maybe next week I will get a picture of her to show you all.

I hope to see you all the day after Thanksgiving.  I always look forward to that morning when I get to see all of you.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone that participated in our Class Kick Off.  We had a fabulous turn out!!  If you did not have a chance to sign up on Sunday the new schedules are ready to be picked up at the store and all of the projects are now on display.  We have “Gift-Type” projects for December, Disney Week in January and some beautiful projects for your loved ones in February.

I also wanted to Thank You to all of our fabulous employees….you out did yourself.  All of our classes are just outstanding!!  Thank you for all of the extra work that you did so we could have a great day….including coming in when you were not scheduled, helping out other employees finish what they could not get done, giving advice to each other so that each project would look beautiful, coming in and cleaning our bathrooms and just taking care of each other in this stressful time….YOU GUYS ARE FABULOUS…I could not ask for better employees and friends!!!…I LOVE YOU LOTS!!!

Anyway…I am done being mushy!!!….its back to work….ha ha.

You will be able to start collecting Memory Money on the Day after Thanksgiving Sale.  For all of you new people…any purchase that you make starting November 28 - December 23 we will match you in Memory Money.  For the last couple of years we had a silent and a live auction in January that you could then use your Memory Money to bid on the items.  This year we are going to set up a Memory Money Mall….(the best Mall ever)…that you will use your Memory Money to purchase goodies that we have collected throughout the year.  The more Memory Money that you get the more you can spend at the Memory Money Mall.

Have a great week!!

A little birdie told me that we were really crazy this year!!  We have finalized our plans for the day after Thanksgiving and we have decided that we are really crazy!!!….we are going to be opening at 4:30am….yes I know that is really early, but you are not going to believe the discounts that you will get at 4:30am…as well as first pick to our wonderful kits and pre-made pages….my husband also said that he has something in the works for the first 75 people through the front door…not sure what it is yet (he won’t tell me)….I will keep you all posted as soon as I know.

I hope to see you all this weekend for our Class Kick Off (CKO).

Mom - Friday

Another week gone by.  Another week closer to CKO.  We have some awesome classes coming up for the next three months - and some great gifts to make in December.  Class Kick Off is on 11/16 - - please come and see what we have to offer.

You know, I have seen an upsurge in the desire to craft - let’s expand our scrapbooking knowledge and begin to papercraft - or expand our papercrafting.  We have a class now that is a beautiful Christmas Clock which puts your love of scrapbooking and preserving your family memories together with papercrafting.  It is really cool - and would make a wonderful gift from the heart for someone close to you.

Come on in and bring your projects to work on during our Scrap&Yak’s on Friday and Saturday night.  We have fantastic Christmas paper and stamps to make wonder Christmas projects.  Call and reserve your spot to make your Christmas cards on November 23rd in our Marathon Christmas Card Class.  Our staff has done an awesome job in designing Christmas cards this year.

So… to everyone that I have seen recently - it’s great to see you.  To those that have not been in when I have been at the store, come see me - - I miss you!!

Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away - let’s remember to count our blessings and remember what we are thankful for!

See you at the store and God Bless ….. Mom (aka Barb)

So I got back from my trip on Sunday, and let me tell you, I had so much fun.  I went with my super cool future teacher club.  Not only did I go to a bunch of amazing workshops that taught me super awesome techniques to use in my future class room, I also got to preview the new calculator from Texas Instruments, and I got to go to the Winchester Mystery House for their Halloween flashlight tour. It was my first time going to the Winchester Mystery, and let me just say, it was so cool.  I probably took about 60 pictures just there.  I took way more pictures than I can share with you on here, but when I make my layouts, I will let you all know so you can come in a see.

Here are a few of them

I have been trying to get all of my projects done for our next CKO (class kick off) on November 16th!  Mark your calendars and come see what we have been working on for you!

Monday night was a fun night here.  We had 2 classes going on , one of our Technique Classes (chipboard) and my Christmas Days album class.  Christmas Days wasn’t on the schedule for that night and well,  a couple of customers really wanted to take it and since it was a little mix up on our part we just quickly set everything up for them and we all had a ball!    Our next Christmas Days Mini Album class is November 12th.  It’s a very cute chipboard album for you to fill with pictures of all the events that go on during the month of December.

November will be yet another busy month for me besides getting ready for CKO.  My husband and i are having a big bash to celebrate our birthdays.  Woo hoo!  Then the next weekend i am putting on a mother/son dance at our school.  Then it’s time to get ready for Turkey Day!!!!  I like to have it at my house so that we can have the left overs!!

Vacation….or is it a Staycation??

Well I had a fabulous vacation this last week.  I guess it was more of a staycation since I stayed at home the whole week and was a Stay at Home Mom….boy did I LOVE that!!  I have never been a stay at home mom, I have always worked and envied those that got to stay home with their kids and boy do I still envy them.  But I have a fabulous store that I absolutely love and I am not going anywhere…except maybe another staycation sometime in the future.

While I was gone Mom and Jeni took really good care of the store and kept things moving a long…I do have to say that I did change things around when I got in yesterday…oops!!

The Slice is back in stock if you are looking for it.  As soon as we sell 1/2 of what we have I will do another order of them.  There was some things on backorder like the bags and some accessories….those will be ordered again and hopefully will come in the next couple of weeks or so.

We did receive some new cardstock called Coredinations.  It is really neat and has black on one side and a color on the other side so you can distress it and the color comes through the black.  I have not had time to play with it yet, but I have seen it and LOVE it!!

Here is a link to their website if you are looking for more information: http://www.coredinations.com/index.cfm

I am off…

I am writing a day early because I will not be here tomorrow.  I will be going to a science teacher conference in San Jose and I am so excited.  Although, that does not mean I am ready to go .  When I leave here tonight, I have to pack all of my bags, clean my house, and study for a quiz in the morning.  In the morning, I have to clean my car, take my car for a tire rotation and an oil change, and bring April (my puppy) to Puppy Camp.  I hope that I can get all of that done before I have to go to school.  I will definietely share all of the fun things I saw and learned when I come back next week.  Oh… and of course I will take lots of pictures.

Album Club members… I hope you will enjoy the page kit I made for you for next week. I am very proud of it.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween weekend. I want to see the pictures of everyone and their kids in their costumes at the crop next weekend.

 See you all soon.

Kimberly
